I was on my own on the desk when a client walked in with a beagle dog – which proceeded to bounce around all over the sofas in reception. The client was insistent that he see a lawyer immediately as he was convinced someone was trying to kidnap his dog. He would not listen to me that this was not the sort of matter the firm dealt with and I recommended he go to the local police station. He refused to leave until he had seen someone, which obviously was not going to happen. I then spent the next half an hour trying to get him to leave and stop the dog from wrecking the reception area!
